What did you think you were going to be in elementary school or high school?

In elementary school, I was really into art and drawing so I had aspirations to be an artist. In high school, I really wanted to do something in fashion. At first, I thought about fashion design and then quickly realized I didn't even know how to sew. I ended up choosing to major in graphic design, like my mom. And now I'm in PR – you never know where you'll end up!

Did you study PR? If so, why? If not, what did you study?

I did study PR at Penn State. I switched from graphic design to PR in my sophomore year. I really wanted to be in a major that was more in the design/creative world but ultimately realized that the graphic design career path was not a fit. After switching to PR, I enjoyed what I was doing a lot more. I felt like the College of Communications had a lot more opportunities and outlets for my career growth.

How did you make your way to Carve?

I was looking for an internship in PR during my senior year of college. A former Carve colleague of mine had posted about an intern opportunity in Penn State's PRSSA chat. I immediately reached out and the rest is history!

What do you do today at Carve?

I currently work on the consumer team as an Account Executive. I handle all things account management and media relations for the various accounts that I work on. Daily, I communicate with clients, conduct media outreach, craft pitches, build media lists to secure opportunities for clients, draft and submit award applications, compile media briefs, craft press releases, and much more.

I’m also on Carve’s social media team and ideate posts for Carve's Instagram. (If you aren’t already, follow us!)

What is the coolest project you've ever worked on - anywhere?

During my graphic design days at Penn State, I created a book cover based on the movie Split, which is about a man with dissociative identity disorder. I smashed a mirror into pieces and used them to spell out the title on the book cover. It looked pretty awesome if I do say so myself.

What is the career accomplishment you're most proud of?

I have a few. I am proud of having my work efforts recognized in a promotion and seeing coverage go live as a result of my media outreach. My confidence in both internal and external communication has improved immensely since I started at Carve.

What is your superpower?

I would say my superpower is genuineness. No matter the situation you will always get my true self.

What would you love to learn more about?

I'm interested in becoming fluent in another language. I studied French from 5th grade through high school and then minored in it in college. Since graduating, I haven’t really kept up with it, but would love to become fluent one day.

If you were asked to teach someone how to do something in 5 minutes, what would it be?

How to make an elite avocado toast.
